Description
Spend a morning learning the traditional technique of mala-making and how to incorporate mantra recitation into your meditation practice. A mala is a traditional Buddhist rosary, or string of beads, used to count prayers or mantras. In this course we will first learn about the practice of using a mala in conjunction with mantra recitation and the traditional Buddhist techniques for making a mala. This is a simple practice that helps us improve our peace of mind, wisdom and compassion. For Buddhist practitioners, a mala is a very precious and meaningful object that becomes very blessed through regular use.
This workshop is suitable for everyone, whether you are an experienced practitioner or a complete beginner. All materials for this course will be provided, including a selection of semi-precious gemstone beads, threading and tassels. You will come away with a completed mala and the knowledge to use it to benefit yourself and others. Come create something beautiful and deepen your connection to your practice. Malas also make excellent gifts!
Please pre-register so we can ensure there are enough materials for everyone, space is limited!
