How can you best celebrate Kadampa Meditation Center Tampa Bay's 30 year anniversary?

JOIN US FOR A TEACHING ON BECOMING A MODERN BODHISATTVA, FOLLOWED BY A SPECIAL 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION PARTY!

It starts with a wish, very much like the one that brought the teachings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang and the New Kadampa Tradition to Florida in the first place.

When Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso was invited to teach in England in 1977, the first teachings he gave were on the path of the Bodhisattva, from Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life. Geshe-la explained that he chose these teachings because his wish was that many Bodhisattvas would arise in the West. Less than 20 years later, a small group of Venerable Geshela’s students in Florida requested a Buddhist Center be opened here. In 1996, Parbawatiya Buddhist Center, now known as Kadampa Meditation Center Tampa Bay, was the first Kadampa Buddhist Center to open in our state and several more followed years later.  In creating Buddhist Centers all over the world, Geshe-la has manifested his wish, creating vibrant Bodhisattva communities that are benefiting as many living beings as possible.

Joining us for this special occasion is Kadam Morten Clausen , our Eastern National Spiritual Director and Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center New York City, who was one of those who helped bring Kadam Dharma in Florida. Kadam Morten will begin our 30th Anniversary Celebration with an explanation of precisely what "becoming a modern Bodhisattva" means. Afterwards, we will celebrate what we have enjoyed in the Tampa Bay area for 30 years: a vibrant Bodhisattva community working enthusiastically to help as many people as possible experience authentic peace and happiness.

Everyone welcome - please join us!
