What’s the best way to relax after a long day at work? Rejuvenate your mind with meditation! This short after-work class is the perfect way to end your day and enjoy your evening. Join us every Monday after work for meditation, teachings on positive thinking and thought-provoking discussion. Everyone is welcome.

Meditation classes in downtown Tampa teach simple, practical meditation techniques based on the teachings of Kadampa Buddhism. Their intent is to help people to gain a personal experience of inner peace, overcome their daily problems and find real happiness in their hearts.

All of our General Program classes are suitable for everyone—from brand new beginners to experienced meditators—and consist of guided meditations, a talk and discussion. Classes are grouped into series of 4-6 weeks, focusing on a theme or meditation technique.

Each class is self contained, though you are welcome to attend the whole course. They provide an ideal introduction to meditation and Buddhism, teaching effective and practical methods for overcoming problems and increasing happiness in daily life.

Overcoming Fear and Anxiety

Term 2: Feb 6 – Mar 17 (6 Weeks)

Our basic wish in life is to be happy all the time, but how do we accomplish this? Buddha explained that the real source of happiness is inner peace. If we can learn to maintain a peaceful mind all the time then we will be happy all the time. The reason why we find it so hard to be happy all the time is that delusions, such as fear and anxiety, are always causing us to see the world in an exaggerated negative way. By contemplating and meditating on ultimate truth, or emptiness, we can learn to see through the illusions of our mind. Then we will understand things as they really are and, not only will we be happy all the time, but we can become a source of happiness for others. Then we will have accomplished the true meaning of our life. In this series we will learn how to meditate on emptiness and develop deep inner peace.
