Chanted prayers

People in chanted prayersMeditation is the heart of Buddhist practice. Kadampa Buddhists meditate throughout the day, whether informally during all our daily activities or in formal sessions, or both.

Every day at Parbawatiya KBC  regular chanted prayer and meditation sessions, or ‘pujas’ are held, combining meditation, visualisation, and recitation of prayers and mantras.

Many of these sessions are open to the public, and admission is free. They take place in our beautiful Meditation Room in front of the main shrine. These include the daily heart commitment practiceWishfulfilling Jewel, which is every weekday normally at 5:00pm or 5:30pm, and on Sundays at 12:30pm when we make special offerings.  Everyone is welcome to attend these sessions.

Other regular practices for everyone include:

Offering to the Spiritual Guide (Done every month on the 10th and 25th)

Prayers to Mother Tara: Liberation from Sorrow (Done on the 8th of every month)

Melodious Drum also known as Long Protector Puja (Done on the 29th of every month)
Please see the calendar for details and contact us if you have any questions about the sessions.

*Note:  Vajrayogini practice is offered daily for those who have received Vajrayogini Empowerment.
