Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony
A Bodhisattva is a friend of the world—someone who, motivated by compassion, promises to complete the path to enlightenment to be able to benefit each and every living being. By taking and keeping the Bodhisattva’s promise, we learn how to use all our daily activities to help others solve their problems and find lasting happiness. Then our own life will have purpose and each day will feel completely fulfilling.
The course will include the very beautiful and ancient Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony. All are welcome to attend, whether taking vows or not.

Buddhism is the practice of Buddha’s teachings, also known as Dharma, which means “protection.” Suffering is a state of mind, and Buddha’s teachings explain how to overcome states of mind that cause suffering. Through receiving Buddha’s blessings and the help and support of Sangha, our pure spiritual friends, we will have all the support we need to progress in our practice of Dharma. In this way the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha become our real refuge from suffering and problems. Without them we are exposed to the pain of negative states of mind and daily problems. There will be three to four sessions each day of guided explanation and meditation. Everyone is welcome to attend any of these retreat sessions and begin or deepen their practice of Refuge.
Retreat sessions held at 10 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, 5 pm daily
$5 per session (sponsors are free)
